January 24, 2011 "Small Crew - Fun Day!"

Today I was joined for a Full Day Everglades Adventure by Ed and Carol from Massachusetts. Although we had a very small crew, the day was fun and full of adventure.

As always, I spent lots of time "painting a picture" of the Everglades, it's geology, plant and animal life, history and people, as I narrated the journey into one of the most unique wildernesses on the face of our wonderful Planet Earth.

Throughout the day we made stops exploring different parts of the Everglades, learning and getting hands on experiences of this wonderful place. We saw birds, snakes, alligators, plants and animals of all kind and plenty of water! Although we are in our "dry season", we still have a lot of water in the glades, however, the water table has dropped since the rains ended. We are expecting some rain over the next two days and that will be a welcome thing since we do need to add inches to our water level.

I want to thank Ed and Carol for joining us here at The Best Everglades Adventure and hope this visit to Ft. Myers Beach has been special for you and that this safari to the glades with me has helped make it more memorable. Please feel free to share this blog with others and you are welcome to put the link on your Facebook so they can come straight here to see the pictures so it will save you time transferring them to Facebook.

Enjoy your winter up north (sorry, had to say that!) and we hope to have you back on the island with us soon! Check out the other links on the right side of this blog in case you are looking for other adventures in the future especially Good Time Charters and Everglades Adventures. If you feel that others may enjoy this journey while on vacation with us in our area, I encourage you to comment on Trip Advisor to help others in their decision making process! Gator D has to prepare for another fun day so I'm outta here for now! "Shanobish!" (Seminole for "Thank you.")
