February 15, 2011 "SPRING - Well ALMOST!"

What a nice day it ended up being here in Southwest Florida! It almost felt like spring! I guess it is to some degree because we are just one shy week away from Spring Break here on the Island of Ft. Myers Beach.

Get ready here they come!

The traffic indicated "busy" today, as I made my way to pick up customers for our Express Everglades Adventure.

We had a great group today, from Canada, San Francisco, and Indiana. The gators were fun, Captain Kempton provided an excellent ride on the airboat and Captain Kim and Buster (and Snapper) were fun in the alligator presentation.

No one got lost or eaten today, which is great because I HATE the paperwork that I have to do when that happens!

Well I hope you guys like the pics and the videos and enjoy sharing them with others. If you had a good time and want to share your fun with others who may want to do a similar adventure when they visit us here please take time to click on the "Trip Advisor" link on the side of this blog and just write a little so that others can make an educated selection for where they want to have fun in the future.

Thanks all for your kindness and fun! Have a great stay and a wonderful journey back home when you leave our town!

Gator D is out for another adventure so Shi-No-Bish! (Seminole - Thanks!)

January 18, 2011 "Whew! Traffic Traffic Traffic!"

In this business some days seem to just work out better then others and today was one of those days that DID NOT!

In normal situations, today's schedule would have been perfect, however, we had four pickups today (11 people) and due to construction on the north and south end of Estero Island and the amount of "swell" (the people who come in during our "season" - some people call these "snow birds"), our meet times were hard to meet.

Even with this, my customers were excellent and patient and we made the day work. The weather was wonderful, the wildlife plentiful, and Captain Robbie and Captain Kempton brought ALL my folks back today! THANK YOU GUYS! I love it when I can complete a day without filling out the missing persons report! YAY!

And, Captain Kim and Buster were spectacular as always, however, Captain Kim is a little lethargic due to the cold weather. She is cold blooded! :0)

I love my job, and frankly, people seem to make my job the best and today I had some great people. Good questions, good company, good weather, good folks! OH YEAH BABY, THROW ME INTO THE BRIER PATCH!

I want to thank all of you who joined me to day for making this yet another great adventure for me, even in spite of the delays we shared (especially Denise's group - England - Boston and Canada) and for your patience. I hope you all carry away with you a greater appreciation of the Everglades and the diversity it holds in nature. May your travels be safe and you return to your land be blessed!

Gator D is gonna head to sleep now to prepare for another South Florida Adventure!

January 3, 2011 "Kool Kids From Kanada!"

I had a lot of fun in the Everglades today and the kiddo's from Canada made it that way! Oh yeah, I guess so did their parents but, as a fellow kiddo, I got to give the credit where credit is due!

The weather was great, the birds and gators out in force, and the Roseate Spoonbills are still around. The grasses are beginning to look a little dryer, I hope winter will bring some more rain.

I actually started out with a long sleeve shirt but changed out even before picking up my customers. I LOVE IT!

The airboat ride seemed to be fun for the folks and after seeing the alligators and NOT falling into the water, they returned back safe to the dock! That is good for me because I have to fill out paper work if Captain Gary loses any of my people! WHEW!

Well, another fine day in the books. Gonna go for a walk on the beach I think and soak up what's left of the day. You fine folks from Canada enjoy the rest of your stay and have fun eating Mexican Food tonight!

Gator D is signing off for now! Goodbye for now! Feel free to check out our links on the right side of this page and other blogs as you wish and share with your friends and families! It's one thing that is still FREE!
