February 13, 2012 "Nice Day in the Glades with a Nice Family from Canada!"

The day started out cold,however, as I ventured into the glades with a great family of 6 from Canada, we knew we would be seeing warmer weather. It started out at 41 degrees and by the time we got on the Swamp Buggy it had already moved up into the upper 50's so we were quite happy!

We had a super day and it was so great to have these people and their great questions and hunger for adventure with me. We played with all the kinds of creatures, took some risks with scorpions and snakes and alligators, almost lost a couple of them on the airboat, and still managed to get home safe and sound even though there were "crazies" on the highway all day long!

March 3, 2011 "Swamp Buggy Safari!"

Today was a wonderful day with my new friends Jeff and Alison from Canada! We went on a full day adventure today on a swamp buggy and it was filled with the fantastic wonders of the Everglades including alligators, birds, plants, turtles, big cypress swamps and on and on!

The ride took four hours (plus a little extra because Chris the driver was in no hurry!) but the day passed very quickly. The weather was perfect although a little breezy but that was a welcomed thing out in the heat of the day. It was mother natures "air conditioner" and boy did it ever work.

The highlight of the trip was a short walked from the main trail into a Cypress Swamp where we found a ton of wonderful air plants to include the "Pinapple Orchid" and a nice 7 foot gator relaxing in the water. It was certainly a picture perfect example of the Everglades and what a wonderful sight it was.
