November 5, 2012 "Fall in the Everglades"

Gator D was back in the Everglades today for a full day adventure with 13 of the greatest folks! I certainly got lucky having such a fun group and they made my day special!

We began the day with a ride in the glades on an AIRBOAT! The weather was perfect and NO BUGS! Then to the SWAMPBUGGY for a serious ride in the spider infested, watery world of the BIG CYPRESS.

From there, the GATOR FEEDING was marvelous as always, seeing tons of GATOR eating as the zoo keeper through them some chicken. What massive creatures they are and there were about 80 of them!

My folks had their first opportunity to hold a gator and many took this time to enjoy that wonderful creature.

After a brief tour of Everglades City, we moved on to lunch where we partook of our meal at the old Everglades City Train Depot, now famous as the "Seafood Depot". It was a good meal as always and I think most people got their fill before moving on to the TED SMALLWOODS INDIAN TRADING POST.

After spending some time looking at the relics from the past we moved on toward the PETTING ZOO with a brief stop at the SMALLEST POST OFFICE IN AMERICA.

Everyone had a fun time holding snakes, gators, and exotic birds and hearing some information about the SKUNK APE from renowned Skunk Ape Researcher Dave Shealy.

That pretty much ended our day of activities with only the drive home left, however, we did run down a old logging road where we saw many different species of birds and even a couple of gators hanging out by the road.

All in all the day was a success. It was my pleasure being in the company of these great people.

Thank you all for your participation in this EVERGLADES ADVENTURE!

Gator Dwight is tired and ready to relax so on behalf of Good Time Charters and Everglades Adventures, thank you all! GOOD NIGHT! SEE YOU LATER ALLIGATORS!
