Giraffe's At Naples Zoo! YAY!

The Naples Zoo has added a wonderful new attraction of five, 1 to 2 year old Giraffes!

Sonja and I traveled there last week just to view these magnificent creatures and had a blast sitting there just gazing upon these gentle giants.

We learned several months ago that the zoo was seeking to add a Giraffe habitat and even had help from Jack Hanna to raise money to obtain these creatures. After several months of waiting, they are finally here.

Although they are currently in a "quarantine area", a new display paddock is in the planning stages and will be built in the near future. This structure will include a high platform that you can climb up to and view the animals eye to eye!

This is gonna be a wonderful adventure for us. We are members of the Naples Zoo and if you have not been there, especially if you are local to our area, you must journey there soon. Not only does it offer this new exhibit but the entire zoo is special.

I thank my wonderful photographically inclined wife, Sonja, for sharing these pictures with me so I could post them for your viewing pleasure!

Let me know what you think!

Well we had yesterday off and spent the day roaming the north end of our island and then onto a yacht belonging to friends of ours for a "loop" around the island that we never pulled off because of afternoon rain. No matter, we still sat around the cockpit sipping on some adult beverages and enjoying the sweet conversation of friends.

So with that said, it's off to the gym for Gator D, an adventure that is necessary, however, not quite so enjoyable as watching those gentle giants known as the Reticulated Giraffe!

Have a great day and enjoy life to it's fullest folks!
